Niagara Falls Police Department Administrative Division is commanded by a Police Captain and comprised of Officers, Civilian Staff and other support personnel as assigned by the Superintendent of Police. The administrative section is responsible for providing all administrative services to ensure complete and effective operation of the agency. This will include the issue of all written directives, general orders and Personnel assignments.
A) Planning and Research shall be responsible for the development of written orders, policy changes, procedures, managing special events, capital improvement and other related staff assistance as required.
B) Field Training and Evaluation Program shall be responsible for the standardized on-the-job training and documentation for all newly hired police officers who have completed the Basic Police Academy certified by the Municipal Bureau of Police in Albany, New York. This responsibility shall include the actual certification of selected Patrol Officers as Field Training Representatives, administrative functions, coordinating all involved and monitoring of all field reports.
C) Personnel shall be responsible complete administration and maintenance of all Police division personnel records, which include the compilation of data regarding each members description, education level, special degrees or skills, interests, assignments as well as accomplishments, equipment issue, evaluation, disciplinary matters and other related items.
D) Records shall be responsible for the administration, coordination, and maintenance of all documentation generated by this agency for State Crime Statistics, generated complaints received, investigated and/or requests for police services. Such management of records shall conform to all local , state, federal statutes governing this legal body for the purpose of such documentation.
E) Computer section shall be responsible for the coordination, maintenance and administer all computer related functions of all computer operations within the agency. This will include access, security, training, scanning for accuracy of incident base reports for New York State and the FBI.
